Colour is the main focus for me in my practice, going forward as designers we need to think more consciously about colour decisions and how they affect the way consumers use the products we design.
I believe that through developing colour palettes more thoughtfully, we can promote sustainable use of products through joy. As we know, the things we keep in our homes through the years are the things that bring us joy and for me, this comes through surrounding myself in colourful, playful design.
Thorough research into colour psychology is bringing sustainable colour to another level, encouraging the use of colours that make us feel good in spaces. As well as this, research into colour theory and intuitive decisions as designers based on inspiration, is the mix of research we should be using when thinking about colour.

Trend forecasting
Trend forecasting is an important tool across the industry but as easy as it can be to follow these forecasts, we need to look at trend forecasting as a tool to develop further, looking to develop our own concepts and colour palettes building on trends but looking at more sustainability-focused research and our own playful concepts.
